On Page 224-225 Look at the time line at the bottom then read the Historical Background to Unit 4: 1890-1908

On Page read Page 226, Read the Objectives in the margin of Page 226

On Page 227 Read and learn the definitions in the white box in the margin.

Read Pages 226-227 that introduce the first selection.

Scan Pages 228-258; focus on the tan boxes, which contain the key vocabulary terms in black bold type, learn the meanings of the words.

Scan Page 228-258 for the white rectangular boxes in the margin that contain thoughts about the selection.

Read Through Pages 228-258. (take notes of important ideas)
