Chapter 4 Introductary Project

The Project should be in display form that can be put up somewhere in the school. Students are to create a display that teaches about one of the following topics. I will give them an example tomorrow. Here are some possible Topics:

• The Evolution of Plants
• Two types of Plants (Vascular, Nonvascular) and Parts of those Plants
• Monocots verses Dicots
• Classification of Plants (Use a Tree to show how closely related the different plants are.)
• Your favorite group of plants (Teach about a specific group of plants, show examples)
• Uses of Plants (we forgot clothing in class)
• The role of plants in the Food Chain
• Things learned from plants (ex. George Mestral created velcro after studying how cockleburs cling to clothing.)
• Ways plants distribute themselves to move from place to place.
• Importance of Rainforests
• Life cycle of different kinds of plants.
• Plant structures

I could go on but I don’t want to bore you. If you think of something else you would rather do dealing with plants, go for it

You will only have the first five minutes tomorrow to choose your topic and then you will need to get started. (That’s 10:35 start time on your projects) You will have two class periods to develop you poster/display. On Thursday, we will share them.
