Chapter 10 Introduction.

Materials:

Objective:

Anticipatory Set:* Students will identify the weather event on page 228. The teacher will read the introductory paragraph on Page 229. Students will list as many weather events as they can in 3 minutes. Students will then go through their lists and develop a comprehensive list with the teacher.

Teacher Input:*

Teacher will show and discuss the Organization of Chapter 10. Students will discuss the goals of Chapter 10 and what they are going to learn.

Guided Practice:* Students will use Internet resources to predict the weather for the next 10 days. Use the weather predictions sheet. Each student will need their own sheet. (This will be a competition in which the winner will get a weather station with remote.

Independent Practice:* Students will complete the worksheet: "The Climate Where You Live"

 

Duration:

30 minutes + 10-15 for Independent Practice (Could be longer if taken for homework).
