Look at the picture on Page 294, What do you think the picture has to do with nonfiction? (self thinking question)

On Page 295 Read the short introduction to NonFiciton.

Read the Introduction to Unit 6 on pages 296-297. Remember that nonfiction is a very broad category for every form of prose writing that is not fiction.

Look at the objectives in the margin of page 298, this is what you will strive to learn the first section of the unit.

Look at the white boxes in the margins of Page 299 these are key vocabulary that you will need to know. Jot them down in your notes.

Read Pages 298-299 about the author of Kon-Tiki, Thor Heyeradhl.
