Acne - clogged skin pores that causes pimples or blackheads.

Caries - cavities in the teeth.

Dermatologist - a doctor who takes care of skin.

Plaque - a layer of bacteria on teeth.

decibel - a unit that measures sound

Optometrist - a specialist in eye examinations and corrective lenses

Orthodontist - a dentist who treats crooked or crowded teeth.

Ophthalmologist - a doctor who specializes in diseases of the eye.

Lesson 2 Key Points

Vocabulary Terms

Aerobic exercise - an exercise that raises the heart rate.

Blood pressure - the force of blood against the walls of the arteries when the heart beats.

Cardiovascular fitness - the condition of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.

Heart rate - the number of times the heart pumps blood each minute

Physical fitness - the body's ability to work, exercise, and play without tiring.
