Common identity - similar interests or goals.

Community - a group of people who live in the same place or have common interests.

epidemic - a disease that spreads quickly

Resource - a source of supply and support.

Economics - the way in which money and other resources are divided among community members.

Public resource - a health service that is run by a local, state, or national government.

Volunteer resource - a group of people who donate their time to provide services.

Screening service - an exam that provides prevention, such as eye and ear exams.

Statistics - important information.

Grant - an amount of money given.

Recall - an order to return unsafe items.

Charitable organization - a group of people who give funds to health care programs.

budget - a written plan for spending money.

Expense - something you need to spend money on.

Income - the amount of money received or earned from a job.

Advocacy group - an organization that works to benefit a specific group.

  2. A person would use a budget to help decide how much money is needed for his or her needs.
  3. Preventive care costs less than treatment of illness. It reduces the demands on health care system. Preventative care allows the community to provide more care for less money.
