Matter - Anything that has mass and takes up space.
Mass - the amount of material an object has.

Meter, m - the basic unit of length in the metric system; it is about 39 inches.
meterstick - a common tool for measuring length in the metric system
centimeter, cm - a metric unit of measure that is 1/100 of a meter.
Millimeter, mm - a metric unit of measure that is 1/1000 of a meter.
kilometer, km - a metric unit of measure that is equal to 1,000 meters.
