Vocabulary Terms

Decimal - a number that has a decimal point in it.

Digit - Any one of the symbols 0,1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9

Decimal point - A period that separates digits representing numbers that are one or more from digits representing numbers that are less than one.

Place value - Worth of a digit based on its position in a numeral.
