Lesson 2 Key Points
qualification - a sill or quality a person must have to fill a job or position.
Campaign - to work on activities connected to getting elected to a political office
Polling place - a place where people vote.
Secret ballot - a way of voting in private.
Electoral College - A group of people chosen by political parties to vote for the president and vice president.
Popular vote - the votes by citizens in a presidential election.
Can you name the day when citizens vote for the President and Vice President?
Are you able to name the qualifications a person must have to run for President?
Are you able to describe the way the President campaigns and is elected?
Can you explain how the Electoral College works, how electors are chosen, and the number of votes needed to win the presidency?

Budget - a plan for how money will be taken in and spent.

Cabinet - a group of advisers to a head of state.
Appropriations bill - a bill that gives government agencies money to operate
Economy - the system of handling money and business in a country
Environment - having to do with the climate, soil, and preservation of natural resources.
Natural resources - raw materials from nature, such as water and soil.
Labor - Human activity that provides goods or services.
Are you able to describe the work of the White House Office, which is led by the chief of staff?
Can you explain the work of the National Security Council and its members?
Can you give examples of the work of the Office of Management and Budget?
Can you describe the advice given to the President by the Council and Economic Advisers.
