Judicial review - the power of the Supreme Court to declare laws and actions of local, state, or national governments unconstitutional.

Judicial restraint - a policy that the Supreme Court should avoid questions related to politics or social questions.

Judicial activism - a policy that the Supreme Court should take an active role in deciding questions related to politics and social issues.

Apportion - to divide and give out something according to a plan.
