    Required Forms 

      High school athletes who wish to participate in ASAA sanctioned events must complete the following forms in Arbiter Athlete online prior to competition. Below are the paper copies.  

    Eligibility

    • Students must meet the eligibility standards of the Yukon Koyukuk School District and the Alaska School Activities Association to participate in activities. More information about eligibility, conditions of participation and letter award criteria can be found in the YKSD Student Handbook, page 19.
    • ASAA eligibility rules can found on the ASAA website.
    • The tobacco, alcohol, and controlled substances policy of the ASAA requires students and parents to watch a video and sign an acknowledgement form. Get more information and watch the "Play for Keeps" video

    Mandatory Coaching Videos

    For 1st year coaches the following is mandatory

    • 1. Alaska state law requires anyone doing any type of coaching with high school students to complete the "Concussion Training". The training is free and can be accessed on the ASAA site here: http://asaa.org/coaches/coaches-education/
    • 2. Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The training is free and can be accessed on the ASAA site here: http://asaa.org/coaches/coaches-education/
    • 3. Coaches Certification Extension Request
      ASAA may grant a one time extension of the certification requirement upon receiving such a request from the school administration. Please use the following form to request an extension.
      Extension of Coaches Certification Requirement

    The ASAA Coaches’ Education Program requires that all high school level coaches who have direct supervision of students be certified prior to the first competition. Coaches who actually supervise students may include head coaches and assistant coaches at all levels, as well as volunteer coaches and coaches of outsourced school programs. New coaches in the state of Alaska are required to show proof of taking and passing the NFHS courses or an equivalent certification program. The ASAA Executive Director may grant a one season extension of this certification requirement upon receiving an individual member schools’ request. No coach may be granted more than one extension. Please use this form to request an extension. Refer to Article 10 – ASAA Bylaws.

     

    Coaching Certification

    For any returning coach or second year coach who previously submitted the above waiver and videos will need to complete the follwoing courses below. If coaching an ASAA Sport (ie.
