Patty Woody, Itinerant Counselor
Patty Woody completed her undergraduate work at Fort Lewis College in 1990 in Durango, Colorado with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. In 2009, she earned her Masters Degree of Education in Counseling from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In 2010 she was offered a position with Yukon-Koyukuk School District as an Itinerant Counselor, she works with students in Minto and Manley Hot Springs.
Prior to working for YKSD, she worked for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District in a variety of positions. She was a Counselor, After School Program Instructor, Career Guidance Specialist, and a Graduation Success Coach.
In addition, she has worked as an Accreditation Team Member evaluating the Yukon-Koyukuk School District schools for accreditation. Other work experience includes aligning CTE curriculum, spending almost ten years working with at-risk youth, and as a chemist in an environmental testing laboratory.
She enjoys doing things with her family and being outdoors; especially berry-picking, fishing, skiing, ski-jouring, running, and hiking.
