This collection of interactive digital books was a collaboration between the Yukon-Koyukuk School District and the Association of Alaska School Boards. The books were created at a series of two-day “Book Slam” workshops held in YKSD schools during the 2018-19 school year. Students, teachers, elders, community members, and district staff were involved in illustrating, translating, and narrating the books, which feature local stories, language and culture.Cultural identity is an important element of student academic success and well-being. We hope you enjoy reading these books as much as we enjoyed making them!
